ISP Recommendation
13/10/04 - Spilsby is now ADSL-enabled!
In what was a rather low-key affair, the Spilsby exchange was finally enabled for ADSL broadband today.

After more than a year of hard work on the part of our campaign team, the efforts of all involved were recognized by BT.

For those individuals in the Spilsby area who have yet to order an ADSL service, I can personally recommend Force9.

I would like to re-iterate my thanks to the Spilsby Standard (esp. Marie Williamson) for publicizing our campaign.

Watch out for Marie's article in the next edition of the Spilsby Standard!

1/4/04 - Our work here is done....
At approximately 8pm on April 1st, we hit our official trigger of 500!

I would like to thank the following:

* The other members of the campaign team (Jayne Jevons, Jamie Stone, Dominie Jeffrey and Pauline 'Polly' Ford)
* All 500 registrants.
* Spilsby Standard newspaper (for giving us some free publicity).
* Spar/Tuck Shop for acting as official drop-off points.

I would like to stress that neither ourselves or the campaign in general have been associated with any of the following:

* Sir Peter Tapsell MP (refused to give support to our campaign)
* Mark Simmonds MP (his 'broadband for all' petition will not be taken seriously by BT)
* East Midlands Development Agency (we are too busy wasting money on pointless projects to help you)
* The Lincolnshire Broadband Project (we couldn't be bothered to help campaigners in 2003 but we want to take all the credit for your work in 2004)
* Spilsby Target (happy to give support to all of the above but not to our campaign - we didn't even get an acknowledgement to our e-mails)

I will be publishing an RFS (Ready For Service) date for Spilsby here as soon as BT Wholesale inform me of it.

Keep on checking back here for updates!

Regards,
Terry Froy

18/3/04 - Only 100 left!
At 5pm today, we reached 400 registrations.

Thanks to the efforts of the entire campaign team, we are now looking even more likely to hit our trigger of 500 within the next two or three weeks!

Of course, if you haven't already registered your interest, we would certainly appreciate it if you did so.

Likewise, if you have friends or family in the town... please recommend to them that they register with us as well, even if they do not use a computer or the Internet as it does not cost them anything.

More importantly, they are not committing themselves to take ADSL broadband from BT when the Spilsby exchange is eventually enabled.

18/3/04 - Horncastle has ADSL broadband!
Those of you who have been visiting our campaign website since December might remember Horncastle reaching their 500 trigger on the 5th December.

As a result of all the hard work on the part of Mark Aston (their campaigner) in reaching that trigger, the Horncastle exchange was officially enabled for ADSL broadband services yesterday.
